Peter F. Flynn, PhD

DIRECTOR, D.M. GRANT NMR CENTER
ADJUNCT ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR OF CHEMISTRY
peter.flynn@utah.edu

Peter Flynn is a nuclear spin choreographer - an occupation which has engaged the bulk of his energy for most of his life.  When not choreographing, he enjoys music, photography, and wandering around out of doors.

Sarah-Soss

Sarah E. Soss, PhD

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR, D.M. GRANT NMR CENTER
ADJUNCT ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF CHEMISTRY
s.soss@utah.edu
Sarah has degrees in Chemistry and Biochemistry and began her life as a spectroscopist at Utah in 2002. She has used NMR to explore everything from fast-motion dynamics of proteins in solution to crystal structures of small molecules in the solid state. Outside of lab she enjoys hiking, reading, and baking.

Dennis-Edwards

Dennis Edwards

NMR SERVICE ENGINEER

dennis.edwards@utah.edu

As an RF Engineer, Dennis enjoys all aspects of NMR spectroscopy, from cryogenics and superconducting magnets, scientific computer hardware, RF synthesis, generation, and power amplification, and probe testing and design.  And even a bit of chemistry...
He has attended factory training on every NMR spectrometer Varian and Agilent have produced since 1983, including instruments designed in the late 1960's, from 60 MHz analogue CW spectrometers to the strangest high field solid state NMR systems yet devised.

Morgan-StinsonMorgan Stinson

COMMUNICATIONS manager

morgan.stinson@utah.edu

Morgan graduated from the U in 2015 with degrees in Chemistry and Gender Studies. She joined the Flynn lab in 2011 as an undergraduate research assistant, and now oversees communications for the NMR Center. In her spare time, she enjoys exploring the outdoors, painting and cooking vegan food for her friends.

Nick Hudson

NMR Specialist

GRADUATE STUDENT

Nick gradauted in 2015 with degrees in Chemistry and Biology from Bemidji State University. His graduate research focuses on biophysically characterizing zinc finger MBP recognition of DNA. Outside of the NMR Center, he enjoys skateboarding, hiking, biking, playing with his dog and reading.
